Did you know that the "Quetzal" is consider one of the most beautiful birds? These amazing creatures were sacred for Mayans. Were the symbol of life and prosperity. They used to catch them to do clothes and ornaments for the governors with the colourful feathers and then send them free. Killing a quetzal was a crime and warranted the death penalty.
