El Fang Ming fue un buque de carga chino asegurado por la Armada de México en 1995, después de transportar 157 migrantes a través del océano Pacífico 🚢

Cuatro años después, tras ser cuidadosamente limpiado y preparado, fue hundido de manera intencional cerca de la Isla Espíritu Santo para convertirse en un arrecife artificial ✨

Hoy, lo que alguna vez fue un buque de carga es hogar de cientos de especies marinas y uno de los sitios de buceo más emblemáticos de La Paz 🌊🐠

🇺🇸 Today, we're sharing the story of a shipwreck that didn't end up on the ocean floor by accident 🇨🇳

The Fang Ming was a Chinese cargo ship seized by the Mexican Navy in 1995 after transporting 157 migrants across the Pacific Ocean 🚢

Four years later, after being carefully cleaned and prepared, it was intentionally sunk near Espíritu Santo Island to create an artificial reef ✨
Today, what was once a cargo ship is home to hundreds of marine species and has become one of La Paz's most iconic dive sites 🌊🐠

👉🏼El 10 de mayo de 2007, la zona marina que rodea el Archipiélago Espíritu Santo fue declarada Área Natural Protegida, con el objetivo de proteger uno de los ecosistemas marinos con mayor biodiversidad del Golfo de California🌊

Hoy, este refugio natural alberga lobos marinos, delfines, tortugas marinas y cientos de especies marinas más 🐠🐬🦭

No solo visitamos estos lugares, también ayudamos a protegerlos 💙💛

Today, this natural sanctuary is home to sea lions, dolphins, sea turtles, and hundreds of other marine species 🐠🐬🦭

We don't just visit these places, we help protect them 💙💛
