Just a friendly reminder that most of the lights in the skys at night that are moving are airplanes/helicopters operating at varying altitudes from 2000ft above the ground up to 35000ft above the ground. Aircraft 20-35k feet above the ground can look like a drone and be perceived to be one in the distance. A good way to check and see is to use a tracking application such as ADSBEXCHANGE.COM You can turn on your location tracking and it will give you several rings that show how far away the aircraft are from you. Most of the time you can see plans up to 100 nautical miles in the sky provided they are 20k feet or higher in the sky. Applications such as flightaware and flightradar track some aircraft as well but ARE DELAYED by at least 20 seconds or more in some instances. Also aircraft owners can pay to have their flight not show up on these tracking websites(ADSB excluded as it pulls the raw data) so they may not show up at all. A very good example of this is when celebrities fly in to smaller airports they do not want the general public knowing they are coming in. Several race car drivers that use Eldroa speedway do this to avoid any un needed excitement. While we can't say with 100% accuracy that every light in the night sky is a plane we know it's a very low number with perhaps a handful of them maybe being drones. If there were any big operations in our airspace we would know as even the military sends in NOTAMs of operations that may be happening in the area. If there are any questions on this please feel free to reach out and we will be happy to help put your mind at ease about these sightings.
