Assif n’Itrane is an eco-friendly secluded private deluxe camp scenically located in the heart of the wilderness preserved eastern area of Morocco’s soaring Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Merzouga – Erfoud area of the Sahara Desert. The deluxe camp is owned and operated by us, a local Berber family with
a great love for our desert homeland and passionate about preserving our environment and desert culture. At Assif n’Itrane allow yourself to be immersed in an experience straight from pages of a Thousand and One Nights as you enjoy, in comfort, the romance and beauty of gloriously brilliant starlit nights, sunset camel rides through sand dunes of simmering gold, ochre, orange and red, and spectacular views to the majestic High Atlas Mountains and the Kem Kem desert plateau. Each of our large deluxe two-room tents is a traditional Berber nomad tent made of hand-woven camel and goat hair and features king or twin beds, full bedding, authentic Berber carpets, atmospheric traditional Moroccan lanterns with energy efficient solar powered lighting and 240V outlet, and its own private en suite bathroom containing a shower, hand-basin, western toilet and hot and cold water. Complimentary meals, sunset camel ride and return Merzouga transfers are included for all guests. We also provide unique bespoke private camps for celebrating that truly special occasion or just because you prefer to complete privacy. Assif n’Itrane translates from Berber to “River of Stars” and is the name given by the Morocco’s Berber people to the Milky Way.
