* A Big Welcome
Of all the places I've seen in my decade as a travel writer, none is as diverse as the countries of North Africa in Morocco. It is, after all, where the spice trade caravan of Timbuktu met West. Today, this blend of east and west, old and new is attractive for visitors. There are ancient palaces, historical gardens and brand new attractions and hotels. The topography is equally varied, with the desert extending from the ocean to the mountains of snow-covered Atlas.

Although it may feel more distant, Morocco is only about five hours from the East Coast. Direct flights from New York lands in Casablanca. While it is the largest city in the kingdom, there is not many cultural attractions. The most important exception is the Mosque Hassan II solid. The impressive structure is made of marble and local granite. It has the world's largest minaret, a sunroof, and took nearly 10,000 craftsmen to build. Tours are offered in several languages.

De tous les endroits que je ai vu dans ma décennie comme un écrivain Voyage, aucune est aussi diversifiée que le pays d'Afrique du Nord du Maroc.
