⚓️On Monday, 04/05/2026, World Seas Shipping Agency held an official ceremony celebrating the arrival of the giant Chinese vessel GOU YAN HAY at Juliana Free Zone Port, marking the inaugural voyage of the direct shipping line from Chinese and South Korean ports.
World Seas Shipping Agency, the exclusive agent of COSCO Shipping in Libya, officially announced the arrival of the first vessel operating directly from the Far East to Benghazi, with a transit time of only 24 days.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of local and international figures, including:
• His Excellency the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Libya
• Eng. Belqasem Khalifa Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund
• Dr. Jibril Al-Badri, Director General of the Development Authority
• Eng. Ezzedine Al-Gharabi, Mayor of Benghazi
• Captain Ahmed Al-Omami, Director of Juliana Free Zone
• Mr. Mustafa Ibrahim Elmehdawi, Chairman of MedShip Group

This vessel marks the beginning of a continuous series of direct vessels that will operate regularly under the same direct service between the Far East and Libya.
These vessels have been specially designed to optimize operational efficiency and reduce shipping costs. They operate by transporting containers from the Far East to the Mediterranean, before continuing to selected ports to load grain cargo for the return journey back to the Far East.
