At Girteka, we renew our fleet every 2–4 years, not just because it support our business direction of managing the biggest Europe fleet, but because the difference between an old truck and a new one is felt every single kilometer by our drivers and other road users. As Mindaugas Paulauskas, CEO of Girteka Transport, puts it, it’s like the jump from an old, tired car to a brand-new Mercedes-Benz. You don’t just see the difference – you feel it in your daily work. 🚀
A modern cabin with a comfortable bed, an autonomous air conditioner for those hot nights, and cameras that eliminate blind spots isn’t a luxury – it’s a workspace that respects the person working in it. When a driver feels comfortable and safe, they are less stressed, more focused, and better able to return home safely after a long trip. 🏁
At the end of the day, investing in the latest technology is our way of making the roads safer for everyone. Newer trucks don’t just break down less often. They come with smart systems that can step in when the human eye might miss something, like a cyclist in a blind spot or a sudden obstacle.
According to Rainer Müller-Finkeldei, Head of Product Development at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, such technologies are being developed not only to make drivers’ work easier, but also to consistently move closer to an ambitious goal: accident-free traffic. “For many years, we have been investing in research and development to further support drivers in their daily work through assistance systems and to increase the safety of all road users,” he says.
For Girteka, a new fleet is a commitment to a safer and more human industry, where the driver’s comfort is just as important as the cargo they carry.
