Hidden away in Twickenham you’ll find Strawberry Hill House - a fairytale Gothic Revival villa that honestly looks like it belongs in a fantasy movie 😍
Built in the 18th century by Horace Walpole, this incredible house became one of Britain’s very first examples of Gothic Revival architecture and even helped inspire the Gothic novel movement 🙌
Here’s what i loved:
✨ Beautiful stained glass windows (many pieces were collected from Flanders and the Netherlands
✨ Dreamy turrets and intricate details
✨ The stunning library which was easily one of the highlights
✨ A peaceful spot near the River Thames
Here are a few tips for your next visit:
• 🚆 Take the train from London Waterloo to Strawberry Hill (around 35 minutes)
• 🎟️ Book your tickets online in advance - guided tours are also available
• ☕ Make a morning of it and enjoy brunch or a riverside walk in Twickenham
• 🗓️ Check opening days before visiting as it’s not open every day
Definitely SAVE this for your next London adventure 🇬🇧
