Sri Lanka has been named the top global travel destination for October by international magazine Time Out, which praised the island’s tropical climate, cultural heritage, beaches, hill-country hikes, ancient ruins, and wildlife safaris.

Türkiye and New Mexico (USA) were ranked second and third, while other destinations featured include Valencia, New York, the Philippines, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Timișoara, San Francisco, and Namibia.

Time Out said its rankings were based on seasonal charm, cultural events, and unique travel experiences, with Sri Lanka standing out as offering “a little bit of everything.”
