machines within the space of 26,000 square feet and paved yard for vehicle movement of approximate 150,000 square feet available for smooth processing of any loads of waste paper. A weighbridge is in place for further facilitation.

A team of Gateway College students visited the Geocyc waste paper collection center on 9th March. For an hour they were taken through the various processes of sorting, paper categories,paper collection and baling.
Our main purpose to organize this trip was 'seeing is believing' and that would surely drive others to take positive environmental action in paper recycling.

We also visited the Haputhale Pradeshiya Saba and these are the amazing peoples who sort the garbage for Recycling and Composting. They collect about 1,000 MT of Garbage for sorting from Haputhale and Diyathalawa. They sort Waste Plastic, Metal Cans, Paper and cardboard for Recycling. Mr. Sahan is the person in-charge at the Pradeshiya Saba and Mr. Mahesh is the site manager.

We visited the Haldummulla Pradeshiya Saba and we would like to share a few pictures of our site visit. We met Mr. Rangana who is in-charge of the Waste Management Unit. They collect about 1,000 Kilograms of Waste from the town everyday and every bit of it is sorted out for recycling and composting. After the sorting is done the Waste Paper is sent to us for Recycling. ♻️️
