So tonight we were thoroughly spoilt. We’d been promised a complementary meal in the Japanese restaurant here but instead they did a private dinner for 2 Japanese style. OMG we can’t move !! Amazing venue with food choices we would probably never have ordered but actually enjoyed Another really memorable experience 😊

So we continued our trip through Sri Lanka’s central province with a tuk tuk ride to see the famous 9 Arch bridge built by the British in the Second World War to move supplies. It’s pretty remote and a car wouldn’t have made it but it was worth a look. Later we caught the local train that still uses the bridge - despite very wonky sleepers all the way up into the mountains. Spectacular views but because of the altitude the weather changed making it feel a bit like being back home.

We’ve given up a couple of days in our lovely hotel suite to do what we love best and going exploring 😊😊. It’s meant cold showers and no air conditioning but the scenery and over 10k steep hiking in Ella (new and trendy resort in the mountains) was well worth it. Next a 3hr train ride through the mountains where apparently we will experience more of a British climate - what are we doing 🤣🙈

And some videos…. It was lovely seeing this mum and baby take a bath but the first thing they both did when they got out was cover themselves in mud 😂. Later we came across another very soggy muddy elephant who decided to walk with the jeep for a while. I have mud splatters on my top from him waving his muddy trunk around 😊
