Welcome to the official page of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport. The airport was declared open on 18 March 2013.

Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) (also known as the Hambantota International Airport) (IATA: HRI, ICAO: VCRI) is Sri Lanka's second international airport after Bandaranaike International Airport. The new international airport Mattala Rajapaksha International Airport is expected to expand Sri Lankan aviation industry whilst being a catalyst for the country's economic development ena

bling international trade, tourism, vocational training and employment. MRIA has been built in order to be compatible with the worlds largest aircrafts such as the Airbus A380 and has been designed according to the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization. This facility will soon house its own MRO facility and two transit hotels within the aerodrome. Further, Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport will be establishing a cargo facility with international and local players basing warehousing and various cargo related business ventures within the premises of this magnificent facility. With an aim to be the prefered airport for future tourism in Sri Lanka, and also the mere fact that the location of the airport is in the exotic southern part of the country, the theme "Exotic tourism destination airport" is being adopted in making this endeavor a reality.

🚨 New Record

We’re thrilled to announce that Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd (AASL) has set a new record, facilitating the highest number of passenger movements in a single month by handling 1,045,097 passengers in January 2026 through !

This surpasses the previous record of 1,034,687 passengers recorded in January 2018.

Here’s to the journey of achieving even more historic milestones with AASL in 2026!

ගුවන් තොටුපළ සහ ගුවන් සේවා (ශ්‍රී ලංකා) (පුද්ගලික) සමාගම (AASL) ඉතිහාසයේ එක් මාසයක් තුළ හැසිරවූ වැඩිම මගීන් සංඛයාව වාර්තා කරමින් 2026 ජනවාරි මස මගීන් 1,045,097 දෙනෙකුට සේවා සැපයිමට සමත්වි ඇති බව ඉතා සතුටින් දැනුම් දෙමු!

මෙය මීට පෙර වාර්තාව වු 2018 වසරේ ජනවාරි මාසයේදී මගීන් 1,034,687 දෙනෙකුට සේවා සපයමින් තබා තිබූ පෙර වාර්තාව අභිබවා යාමකි.

விமான நிலையங்கள் மற்றும் விமான சேவைகள் (இலங்கை) (தனியார்) லிமிடெட் (AASL), மூலம் ஜனவரி 2026 இல் 1,045,097 பயணிகளைக் கையாண்டதன் மூலம் ஒரே மாதத்தில் அதிக எண்ணிக்கையிலான பயணிகள் இயக்கத்தை கையாண்டு புதிய சாதனையைப் படைத்துள்ளது என்பதை அறிவிப்பதில் நாங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம்!
