During a port maneuver in the bay of Callao, a vessel from the Evergreen company lost around 50 containers after part of its cargo came loose. Among the transported goods that sank into the sea were clothing, watches, footwear, kitchen items, and more than 500,000 units of the iPhone 17, which were en route to Mexico. Strong winds and rough seas caused the ship to lose some containers while unloading. Maritime rescue teams were deployed to recover part of the cargo, although it is believed that a significant portion of the electronic devices were irretrievably lost due to the impact and exposure to saltwater.
