Xe Bang Fai Cave in Hin Nam No National Park is one of the largest river caves in the world and still far off the typical tourist radar. You can explore it on a relaxed 2-hour boat tour with a short walk inside the cave, or go all in with a full-day kayak expedition deep into the underground river system.

Located in Khammouane Province, it makes an unforgettable detour from the Thakhek Loop, especially if you stay overnight at the Xe Bang Fai Campsite near the cave.

Would we recommend it?
Absolutely. 100% yes 🌿🏞️

Tad Tayicseua Waterfall Valley – One of the most underrated places on the Bolaven Plateau in Southern Laos 🇱🇦

Tad Tayicseua is often described as a single waterfall, but in reality it’s an entire waterfall valley with seven different waterfalls, connected by a jungle hiking trail and surrounded by untouched nature. Located on the Bolaven Plateau Big Loop, it’s one of those places many travelers skip simply because it’s a bit off the main route.

We recently explored the Tad Tayicseua Valley and put together a detailed local guide covering:

✔️ routes from Paksong and Sekong
✔️ road and trail conditions
✔️ all seven waterfalls
✔️ hiking path through the valley
✔️ where to stay overnight
✔️ and an immersive 360° drone tour of the entire area

If you enjoy slow travel, nature, and places far away from the crowds, Tad Tayicseua is absolutely worth the detour.

Here is a travel destination in Laos, which should be on everyone’s list from now on: Mueang Feuang – a district in Central Laos conveniently located between Vientiane and Vang Vieng.

Still not as well-known as Vang Vieng to foreign travelers, this peaceful limestone valley is one of the most authentic and scenic places in Laos. Floating bungalows on the Nam Lik River, dramatic limestone mountains, monks passing by in boats at sunrise & still mostly local tourists.

It’s the perfect getaway if you want nature, slow days, and a real look into local Lao life. Stay in a floating house, kayak down the Nam Lik river, explore the surroundings and enjoy sunset views.

If you’re planning a trip to Laos during season 2025/26, make sure Mueang Feuang is on your list. You will love it.

Most travelers know Angkor Wat in Cambodia, but only few realize that there’s an ancient temple in Southern Laos which is even older and was once part of the mighty Khmer Empire.

Sitting at the foot of a sacred mountain, Vat Phou is calm, spiritual, and full of history. It’s one of those special places where nature, faith, and ancient Khmer architecture come together in a truly peaceful setting.

Right now is the best time to visit. The weather is getting cooler and the countryside is still green.

🇱🇦 Patuxai – Vientiane’s Iconic Monument You Shouldn’t Miss! Sometimes also referred as "The Arc de Triomphe of Laos".
Did you know the famous Patuxai Victory Monument was built using cement meant for an airport runway? Today, it stands as a proud symbol of Lao independence and is one of the most photogenic spots in Vientiane.

📍 Planning a trip to Vientiane? Don’t skip this landmark! It also gives you nice views over the Capital, even on rainy days.
