It's Tuesday, it's travel, it's top tip Tuesday travel time....so what's on my mind for today? Norway...!! My top tip for today is if you are going to book a Norwegian Fjords cruise, book a Balcony! Here's why...

A Norwegian Fjords cruise is unusual because you don't necessarily need to leave the ship to experience the destination.

On scenic sailing days, the landscape itself comes to you — mountains, waterfalls, tiny villages and fjords can pass directly alongside your balcony.

There will be a reason for why I am going to share a little about the 4 ports below, but you'll have to wait a couple of days to see why :

Haugesund 🇳🇴 — Norway's Viking heritage is particularly strong here. The region is associated with Harald Fairhair, traditionally regarded as the king who first unified Norway.

Skjolden 🇳🇴 — sits at the innermost point of Norway's longest fjord system. The journey there is effectively a scenic cruise excursion in itself.

Olden 🇳🇴 — gateway to glaciers, dramatic mountains and the spectacular Loen Skylift, which climbs from the fjord to over 1,000 metres above sea level in just a few minutes.

Stavanger 🇳🇴 — gateway to Lysefjord and the famous Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), whose almost-flat cliff top towers about 604 metres (1,982 ft) above the fjord.
