Camp Laguardia

Camp Laguardia Camp Laguardia, Korea. Home of D 4/7 CAV and Home of 1/2 Attack (Attack Deep) 1989-1996 D 4/7 CAV occupied the base under 2ID in the 80's.

Camp LaGuardia is rumored to have been a Japanese military base for propeller planes dating back to their occupation of the country from 1910 to 1945. The unit changed to 1/2 ATK (also under 2ID) and 4/7 CAV moved to CP Stanton or CP Garry Owens. As part of major restructuring of the forces in Korea, 1/2 Attack moved to CP Page and the 2ID Band and an Engineer unit occupied the base in the late 90

s and early 2000s. Today, the base is closed and satellite photos reveal that CP Laguardia has been reverted back to farming land, a parking lot, and the solid east/west runway supports an above ground train loop for the country's mass transit system.

LaGuardia Note: Looks to be landing to the South at the part of the airfield we used to refer to as the 'North 40'.

Happy Veterans Day, especially for all of those that served at least some of their time on this little airfield in the middle of Uijongbu, Korea!
