“The boards of Wilhelmsen group Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA and Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA are very pleased to announce that we have finally received all the necessary approvals and have completed the merger between Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA and Wallroll AB, including our jointly owned entities Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics , EUKOR car carriers , American Roll-On-Roll-Off Carrier and our vessels,” say the respective chairs, Thomas Wilhelmsen and Diderik Schnitler.

The new entity, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics ASA, is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, and will start trading under the ticker WWL at the Oslo Stock Exchange 5 April 2017.

“Today marks a historical milestone in our relations with the Kleberg family and Wallenius company. While we are leaving a strong and profitable cooperation behind, we have also established a strong platform for future growth together. The new company will facilitate an improved growth path for the land-based logistics offer, where we expect investments and development of new products and services, as well as a sound foundation for offering tomorrow’s deep-sea transportation services to global car and ro-ro manufacturers,” says Jan Eyvin Wang, president and CEO of Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA.

As of today, Jan-Eyvin Wang and Benedicte Bakke Agerup resign as CEO and CFO respectively of Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA. Craig Jasienski is the new CEO and Rebekka Glasser Herlofsen the new CFO of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics ASA. Also effective from today, and for a period of two years, is the new board consisting of Håkan Larsson (chair), Thomas Wilhelmsen, Jonas Kleberg, Marianne Lie and Margareta Alestig.

“I would like to wish the new board and management the best of luck in creating and developing the world’s leading, most agile and efficient shipping and logistics platform,” says Wang.

Ms Bakke Agerup will explore opportunities outside the Wilhelmsen group, while Mr Wang will continue to work with the group as responsible for developing parts of the Wilhelmsen group portfolio, namely Treasure ASA, NorSea Group and Wilhelmsen Ship Management.

Morning Peace enters into full technical management

EUKOR's newest car carrier now managed by Wilhelmsen Ship Management On 30 March 2017, MV Morning Peace was formally delivered to EUKOR under WSM Korea's full technical management from the 현대삼호중공업 Co.,Ltd. shipyard in Mokpo, South Korea.

Morning Peace sails under the Marshall Islands flag and weights at 22,137 DWT. The PCTC can carry up to 7,549 cars.
Sister vessel Morning Prosperity is also constructed in the same shipyard and scheduled for takeover in due time.

We wish Captain Heo JH , Chief Engineer Cho SC , all officers and crew, safe sailing now and into the future.

The terminal features an intuitive graphical interface and can be used in web, mobile and PC, can be easily installed. Installation of on board can be remotely monitored via remote control software Aptus in intelligence.

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (“NDRC”) concluded its car carrying industry investigation, concerning transport to and from China in December 2015. EUKOR has been one of many shipping companies included in the investigation. The entire process was carried out pursuant to the statutory procedures, during which EUKOR has been fully informed of the progress and its legal rights.

Among other findings, the NDRC’s investigation concluded that EUKOR engaged in agreements in connection with the Chinese market, causing restriction on competition in the Chinese market prohibited by the Anti-Monopoly Law of the People’s Republic of China (“AML”).

“This is a regrettable and unfortunate situation,” says Craig Jasienski, CEO and president of EUKOR. “We are a proponent of fair and open competition and must adhere to the applicable laws in our operation. We have taken the investigation very seriously and cooperated fully with the NDRC throughout the process. We are glad to see the investigation come to an end, so we can move forward, and continue our investment and operation in the Chinese market to achieve success. We will do everything possible to avoid similar situations going forward.”

EUKOR will accept the NDRC’s decision and pay a fine in the amount of RMB 284.7 million (approx. USD 44 million). In addition, the company has already implemented a competition law compliance programme and continues with corrective measures as part of its corporate governance policy, including antitrust compliance training to the relevant employees globally.
