The top level of Angkor Wat, known as the Bakan Sanctuary, holds immense spiritual significance. It represents the summit of Mount Meru, the mythical home of the gods in Hindu cosmology. Access to this level was highly restricted, symbolizing the divine realm. The central tower, once housing a statue of Vishnu, is the focal point of this sacred space. Its lofty height and intricate carvings further emphasize its spiritual importance. Ascending to this level was a metaphorical journey towards spiritual enlightenment and a closer connection to the divine.

ស្ពានទ័ព ជាស្ពានបុរាណត្រូវបានសាងសង់ក្នុងរាជព្រះបាទជ័យវរ្ម័នទី៧ នៅចុងសតវត្សទី១២ ដើមសតវត្សទី១៣។ បច្ចុប្បន្នស្ពានទ័ព មានទីតាំងស្ថិតនៅក្នុងភូមិជើងទៀន ឃុំជើងទៀន ស្រុកចុងកាល់ ខេត្តឧត្តរមានជ័យ ដែលឈរលាក់ខ្លួនយ៉ាងរឹងមាំសម្រាប់ពលរដ្ឋធ្វើដំណើរឆ្លងកាត់។ ស្ពានទ័ព មានចម្ងាយប្រហែល ៨០០ម៉ែត្រ ពីប្រាសាទព្រហ្មកិល និងមានចម្ងាយ ៣២គីឡូម៉ែត្រ ពីទីរួមខេត្តឧត្តរមានជ័យ។ ស្ពានបុរាណនេះ ជាស្ពានដែលមានប្រវែងវែងជាងគេនៅក្នុងសម័យនោះ ដោយមានបណ្តោយប្រវែង ១៥០ម៉ែត្រ កម្ពស់១០ម៉ែត្រ និងទទឹង ១៦,៤០ម៉ែត្រ សង់ពីថ្មភក់ និងលាយថ្មបាយក្រៀម ដែលលាតសន្ធឹងពីជើងទៅត្បូង និងមានប្រហោងទ្វារស្ពានចំនួន២៨។
ទោះមានអាយុកាលរាប់រយឆ្នាំក៏ដោយ ស្ពានបុរាណមួយនេះ នៅតែមានសភាពរឹងមាំ សម្រាប់ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋធ្វើដំណើរឆ្លងកាត់។ ស្ពានទ័ព ក៏ជាកន្លែងដែលភ្ញៀវទេសចរជាតិ និងអន្តរជាតិ មកទស្សនាកម្សាន្ត និងស្វែងយល់ផងដែរ។ នៅពេលរដូវប្រាំង ភ្ញៀវទេសចរជាតិ និងអន្តរជាតិ អាចដើរចុះទៅខាងក្រោម ដើម្បីទស្សនាផ្នែកខាងក្រោមរបស់ស្ពាន។ រចនាប័ទ្ម និងរូបស្ពានបុរាណមួយនេះ មានលក្ខណៈដូចនឹងស្ពានកំពង់ក្ដី ដែលស្ថិតនៅខេត្តសៀមរាប៕

The Bayon Temple is a must-see for any visitor to Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is a beautifully decorated Khmer temple that was built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the state temple of King Jayavarman VII. The Bayon is located in the center of Jayavarman's capital, Angkor Thom.

The temple is most famous for its many towers with smiling faces on each side. There are 54 towers in total, and each one has four faces, for a total of 216 faces. The faces are believed to represent the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, a compassionate deity in Mahayana Buddhism.
