Maasai Mara 🇰🇪

The children of SEMADEP SCHOOL Connected Planet Conservation club have been taking part in weekly conservation lessons run by the extremely knowledgable guide, Sopia Luka TG

This week they headed out on a nature walk, specifically in search of our feathered friends. The walk was a success and the children found 19 different species of bird. Next month the children will head into the Maasai Mara reserve to witness the spectacle that is the Great Migration.

Our thoughts go out to the Maasai people of Tanzania who are being displaced from their homes to make way for “a conservation area” for the UAE Royal Family. It is largely reported that this will be used mostly as a hunting reserve. There have been reports of Mai people being shot as they protest against the actions.

We stand by our Maasai family.

Yet another sunset,
Yet another day comes to an end,

Who would’ve thought in Africa you would be me telling the most incredulous story?
The close call tales of lions poised to attack, and elephants ready to charge. Or is it just a story??

The wild creatures that you can see in Africa are exhilarating in their multitudes and colors, you couldnt imagine for a time, that a glimpse of the earth’s evening might account for the anticipation that you might feel, the sense of origins, of innocence and mystery, like a marvelous childhood story restored.
