Oceanview Marine Cargo Surveyors – Your Trusted Partner in Container Integrity Inspections

On 29th April 2025 , our inspection team at Oceanview Surveyors was appointed to assess the condition of a 40ft Maersk shipping container. Our findings highlighted significant structural damage at the front lower right side of the unit:

Severe Denting and Warping: The bottom rail and panel exhibited extensive deformation and inward bending, compromising the container’s structural integrity.

Corner Post Distortion and Corrosion: The front right corner post showed signs of impact with heavy corrosion and surface abrasion.

Tear and Pe*******on: A partial tear was observed at the base rail, exposing internal surfaces and potentially compromising watertightness.

Side Panel Buckling: Prolonged horizontal stress was evident along the container's right side, suggesting mishandling or an incident during transit.

Why Appoint Oceanview Surveyors?

Expert Damage Identification – We detect not only visible dents and corrosion but also underlying structural weaknesses that can affect cargo safety and insurance liability.

Timely and Documented Reporting – We provide photographic evidence, timestamped documentation, and professional assessments for claims or redress.
