SAVE the Lamu Coast

SAVE the Lamu Coast China is selling Kenya a second-hand coal plant to produce 1,050mw of dirty power when the country doesn’t require it.

The plant is slated to be built in Lamu, which will destroy the environment and lead to health issues for all who live around the plant and destroy the UNESCO World Heritage status enjoyed by Lamu’s pristine coast. Because there is no coal in Kenya, coal would have to be imported from South Africa. There are also no transmission lines to transport power to neighbouring countries like Ethiopia that

may require power. The plant will employ thousands of Chinese and won't create jobs for Kenyans. This is a scam to cheat tax-paying Kenyans of money on a massive scale and must be stopped. Please spread the word to help us defeat this devastating encroachment on our beautiful coast.
