Full marks to our Ministry of Environment and Forestry that is is developing policy and legislation for comprehensive solid waste management in Kenya.
This is a 4 January Request for Public Comments that requests the views of organisations and individuals.
As you know, Karura Forest has been in the forefront of setting waste management policy in one of Kenya’s most popular public spaces with our Plastics Ban and the recent You Bring It In, You Take It Out policy.
The announcement points to three documents to guide the discussion:
· National Sustainable Waste Management Bill
· National Sustainable Waste Management Policy
· E-waste Strategy
The documents can be downloaded from the Ministry’s website . However, the E-waste Strategy was not yet available on 7 January.

The Friends of Karura Community Forest Association intends submit its comments by the 25 January deadline.
