This week we had some lovely guests who took a trek up Mt. Takao!⛰️
This is the most climbed mountain in Japan with millions of visitors annually. It was even awarded three stars by the Michelin Green Guide.✨

It's the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo- just less than 1 hour from Shinjuku on the express train!

At 599 meters, Mt. Takao isn't particularly tall, but it's abundant with flora and fauna and offers a variety of hiking trails, from accessible concrete paths to wild dirt tracks far off the beaten path. 👣

It's great for all types of hikers, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned one. And if you don't feel like climbing, you can even just take the cable car or chairlift halfway up the mountain.

Meet Federico, our newest planning assistant, who is originally from Spain.🇪🇸 We are thrilled that our team keeps growing, and we are lucky to have people from different backgrounds and with their own unique skills and personalities, so that we can also cater to our various guests from all over.✨

Here's a message from Federico:

I was born in Galicia, Spain, near the border with Portugal. My interest in Japanese culture began with the creativity and storytelling found in manga. That passion led me to travel to Japan, specifically Tokyo, where I have now been living for several years. It was like a "boom," discovering a culture completely different from mine, yet somehow similar. I've always loved art, but also history and fun facts. That's when I also realized my desire to help more people discover Japan's rich culture and history.

As a member of the Omakase Tour team, I hope to be part of that process, sharing the beauty, stories, and traditions of this country with visitors from around the world, helping them create unforgettable experiences and meaningful connections with Japan's culture.

Loving these pictures of guests on a recent tour of Nara during hydrangea season! 😍

In 710, Nara was the first permanent capital of Japan, making it a treasure trove of historical and cultural significance. It is home to some of the country’s oldest and most revered temples, including Todai-ji, with its towering Great Buddha, and Kasuga Taisha! ⛩️

Only about an hour away from Kyoto or Osaka, Nara can be done as a day trip, or you can choose to stay overnight and further explore the hidden gems of this prefecture.💎

On our tour, a local guide will take you to the highlights, from its majestic temples and shrines to meeting the free-roaming deer in Nara Park! 🦌

We are so thrilled to see an increase in visitors to Kochi, truly an underrated gem of an area! Recently, we have even had tours around the Niyodo river, known for having the purest water in all of Japan. 💧 It sparkles a stunning aquamarine on sunny days, enticing onlookers to its crystal clear shimmering waters. ✨

One of our recommended spots to visit is definitely Nakatsu Gorge, where you can go on an easy hike along the pristine river flowing peacefully alongside you. 🏞️ Try to spot all seven statues dedicated to the “Seven Gods of Fortune” along the way.
At the end of the trail, you'll be greeted by a thundering waterfall!
