Cycling through the Japanese countryside, one extraordinary meal at a time. 🍽️
Our most popular luxury offering, the Foodie’s Bike Tour Nasu - Nikko, is in full swing and drawing rave reviews once again. Scattered cherry blossoms still clung to the trees as we rode through countryside coming alive with rice paddy preparations, the very picture of a Japanese spring.
And the food. Where do we even begin. A full course lunch at a centuries-old farmhouse, bursting with just-harvested vegetables. Freshly made soba. River fish straight from the source. Tochigi’s celebrated strawberries. Crispy, golden katsu straight from the fryer. And each evening, a procession of beautifully composed kaiseki dishes at a luxury onsen ryokan.
The tour begins in the Nasu Highlands and builds to a grand finale in Nikko, home to stunning UNESCO World Heritage shrines and a lake of quiet, breathtaking beauty.

Riding beneath tunnels of full-bloom cherry trees, swept up in cascades of falling petals, the Tohoku Sakura Bike Tour 2026 has come to a beautiful close. 🌸
The feedback from our guests has been wonderful. The sakura surpassed every expectation. So did the cycling. But what moved people most was everything in between: the quiet rhythms of rural Tohoku, living culture, steaming onsen, and a remarkable variety of food experiences that no guidebook could prepare you for.
Eight days on the road together, and an incredible group of people to share it with. That made all the difference.

Pink! Pink! Pale pink! The cherry blossoms are in full bloom! 🌸
Our beloved annual Tohoku Sakura Bike Tour is back, and what a start it has been. For the first two days, wherever we rode, cherry blossoms stretched as far as the eye could see. Perfect timing, pure luck, and the energy on tour has been electric!
Guests have also been getting a deeper look at Japan’s iconic sakura trees, learning from our very own cherry blossom expert onboard. The more you know, the more fascinating these blooms become.
And the best part? The Tohoku Sakura Bike Tour is still going strong! 🌸

Surrounded by cherry blossoms, pedaling along sparkling coastlines and hiking sacred mountain trails to ancient shrines. Our first Kumano-Kodo Pilgrimage Bike & Hike Tour of the season was an absolute success!
Through misty, mystical forests, our guests walked a pilgrimage route with over a thousand years of history, cycled comfortably along rivers and the sea, and visited all three Grand Shrines of Kumano on their own two feet and two wheels. And of course, unwound in the onsen along the way.

Our 2026 spring cycling season is officially open! 🌸🚴
We kicked things off with a private Satoyama & Craft Bike Tour through the Nasu and Mashiko regions, designed especially for a couple with a shared love of art and traditional craft. Riding e-bikes through the tranquil satoyama countryside, with cherry blossoms just beginning to bloom along the way, our guests visited the makers behind some of Japan’s most cherished craft traditions: shinodake bamboo weaving, daruma, washi papermaking, and Mashiko pottery.
There is something about traveling through a landscape by bicycle that brings you closer to it. These crafts were born from life in the mountains and fields, shaped by local materials passed down over generations, and experiencing them on two wheels makes that connection feel real and immediate. You see the land the materials come from. You feel the rhythm of the communities that keep these traditions alive.
Cycling and craft: a pairing we think is long overdue. Stay tuned.

We recently introduced our Nasu regional concept, “SHIZEN - the harmonious interconnection between humans and nature”, to a wonderful editor from the UK. Through a cycling experience, they discovered the natural beauty we cherish. Even this season, our satoyama landscape left them absolutely captivated!

We’re delighted to share that many of our 2026 tours are already filling up, with several now fully booked.

During our seven-day Satoyama & Craft Bike Tour Nasu – Mashiko, guests cycle through these serene landscapes, meet master artisans who create with natural materials, and experience the charm of Japan’s timeless countryside life.
Last week, guests from the U.S. enjoyed this journey as a private tour. Blessed with perfect autumn weather, they glided through the golden satoyama on E-bikes, savored local cuisine and culture, and delighted in the colors, wildlife, and craftsmanship of rural Japan.
