Miharu had the pleasure of joining this private tour.
They wanted to fit in as much as possible, so we created an itinerary that made the most of every day—visiting the places they wanted to see and enjoying the foods they wanted to try.🐙🍣🍧🍡🍱

Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and even Tokyo!
They love Doraemon and wanted to visit Tokyo, we made a day trip to Ikebukuro for the Doraemon store 💙

Their hotel was conveniently located near Kyoto Station with a public bath, making it easy to travel by Shinkansen and local trains. After each full day of exploring, they could relax in a large hot bath, recover, and enjoy a bit of Japanese bath culture.♨️

Next time, they want to explore more rural areas and experience Japan’s beautiful nature ☺️

Thank you, Youeqi and Miguel 🦌

Our April Hokuriku tour was a great success 🇯🇵🌸🗾

We visited places where there were hardly any foreign tourists, while also including some of Japan’s must-visit highlights. Each location had local guides, giving our guests a deeper understanding of the area and meaningful opportunities to interact with local people.

Our ryokan stays were beautifully traditional — wearing yukata as pajamas, enjoying colorful kaiseki-style dinners each evening, and experiencing famous Japanese breakfast buffets in the mornings.

Every location, onsen, and experience was carefully handpicked, so it always brings me so much joy to see our guests truly enjoying Japan in person.

💌 Memories from our travelers

Dominique-san is currently on a long and exciting journey across Japan—he’s actually visiting all 8 regions! He’ll be traveling for about 2 months.

He loves train travel, so we worked together to create a detailed transportation plan, including special and very local, exclusive trains.

I can’t wait to see more of his photos and stories! Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. 🙏

Golden Week in Japan is almost here 🇯🇵🎏

If you’re traveling during this time, just know it gets VERY busy.

This year’s official Golden Week is May 2–6, but many locals take PTO on April 30 and May 1, which means some will have up to 8 days off from April 29–May 6 👀

Golden Week is such a fun time to experience Japan’s energy, but planning ahead is a must ✈️🗓️

We had the opportunity to host a vendor booth at the Tampa Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival 🇯🇵🪅

It was such a joy sharing a piece of Japanese culture and connecting with so many of you. If even one of you left feeling inspired to visit Japan someday, I’d call it a success ✨

Thank you for stopping by and chatting with me!
ありがとうございました ☺︎

This company was founded in LA in 1996, originally offering tours for Japanese Americans who missed home. I’m now honored to have taken it over and continue its story as Japan Planned.

I’m still connected with many of these wonderful customers—I send updates, Christmas cards, and little notes to stay in touch.

This April tour will be a small one—just 5 returning guests from LA. An intimate, slow cherry blossom journey 🌸

I love meeting new people, but there’s something truly special about traveling with customers who have supported us for generations and seeing them again in Japan, happy and well.

Our first time hosting a booth at a festival!🏮

To be honest, I was a little nervous at first. I wondered if anyone in Tampa would be interested in Japan or traveling to Japan… and what I would do if no one came to our booth.

But so many wonderful people stopped by. I met people who had worked at military bases in Japan, travelers who want to visit again, and others who have been dreaming of going for years.

Being able to talk with everyone in person was such a meaningful and valuable experience for me.

From our conversations, I learned that many people are interested in traveling in June and September, so next year I hope to create more tours during those seasons.
We also welcome large group trips and family trips.

We’re looking forward to meeting and talking with many of you again. 🇯🇵🤝
Thank you to everyone who took the time to talk with me.

We’re currently planning trips for travelers visiting historic Nakasendō route such as Magome-juku, Tsumago-juku, Nojiri, Kiso-Fukushima, and Narai-juku during Golden Week. (Honestly, the plan is so amazing, I almost want to go myself!😳)

These guests have dietary restrictions (no meat or dairy; fish and eggs are okay) and will be staying in minshuku and ryokan run by local hosts who speak only Japanese. 🤝
Our team member Saori put together a handy Japanese phrasebook for them.
We thought it might be useful for others as well, so we wanted to share it!

If you’d like us to help write your dietary restrictions or allergies in Japanese, don’t hesitate to message us!

Daruma is a Japanese symbol of perseverance and good fortune.

You paint one eye when you set a goal,
and the other when you achieve it.

Yes… I collect them 🤭
Here is one of my favorites.

I’ll be bringing Daruma to the Dream Asia Festival in Tampa next weekend — hope to see you there!

💌 Memories from our travelers

“I've been wanting to get a deeper dive into Japan and taking a tour with Miharu was everything I'd hoped for and more. We stayed at a hot springs, then overnight in a traditional hut where a grandma cooked us breakfast. Not just so many beautiful sights but insights into Japanese culture.

It would have been impossible without Japan Planned.”

Thank you, Nolen!
