趣旨： デジタル・ヒューマニティ―ズ（DH）とは、情報学を背景とするデジタル技術を人文学に応用する手法のことである。人間文化研究機構では、DHは他分野の研究者が新たな研究領域を共創する場であり、また次の世代への知を創り出す基盤ともなると考えて、その推進を重要課題としている。今回、日文研が「国際日本研究」コンソーシアムの研究者ネットワークを活用して開催する本シンポジウムは、まずDH分野の先駆である韓国からの現況紹介を受け、機構、上記コンソーシアム加盟研究機関、日文研学術交流協定校、それぞれ所属の研究者による報告と続き、最後に鼎談へと進む。デジタル環境の特性を活かし組織、国・地域、研究分野、などの壁をこえる連携や技術革新がテーマとなろう。市井の人にも馴染みある学問である人文学、その人文学の未来をDHで拓くという知的興奮を味わっていただきたい。

Purpose: Digital Humanities (DH) is a method of applying digital technology based on information science to the humanities. At the National Institutes for the Humanities, DH is a place where researchers from different fields can co-create new research areas and also serves as a foundation for creating knowledge for the next generation, and we consider its promotion to be an important issue. This symposium, which Nichibunken is hosting using the network of researchers from the "International Japanese Studies" Consortium, will begin with an introduction to the current situation from South Korea, a pioneer in the field of DH, followed by reports from researchers from the organization, the research institutions affiliated with the Consortium, and Nichibunken's academic exchange agreement institutions, and will end with a roundtable discussion. The theme will be collaboration and technological innovation that takes advantage of the characteristics of the digital environment to transcend the barriers of organizations, countries/regions, research fields, and so on. We hope that experience and enjoy all the stimulating themes and conversations.
