🌸 Yui Sakura Shrimp Festival 2025 🌸

Held only once a year, the Yui Sakura Shrimp Festival took place this year on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Yui Port in Shizuoka City.
As the only place in Japan where sakura shrimp can be caught is Suruga Bay, this festival attracted countless visitors eager to enjoy this rare delicacy.

At the venue, visitors indulged in a wide variety of local specialties—from fresh sakura shrimp and boiled sakura shrimp to crispy fritters and even sakura shrimp croquettes—while soaking up the lively atmosphere of this traditional fishing town. It was truly a day to savor the flavors of spring!

Did you know? Sakura shrimp fishing is permitted only twice a year: in spring (late March–early June) and in autumn (late October–late December). In autumn, the shrimp become firmer and richer in flavor, making another trip to Yui something to look forward to. 🍤✨
