Today we hosted our very first fully accessible food tour of Tropea with a wheelchair user...and it was an eye-opening, inspiring, and incredibly rewarding experience.

Navigating a historic hilltop town built centuries ago comes with undeniable hurdles.
Historic cobblestones, steep inclines, and step-only entrances remind us how far many destination cities still have to go to achieve true "barrier-free" tourism. Barrier-free travel isn't just a label: it requires continuous structural effort, investment, and advocacy.

However, what Tropea’s infrastructure sometimes lacks in modern design, Visit Mediterraneo local partners more than made up for in heart and dedication.

True accessibility isn't only about ramps and smooth pavement.
It’s built on human empathy, flexibility, and a shared desire to welcome everyone to the table.

We are proud to take this pioneer step toward a more inclusive Tropea.
