An Italian one-day adventure every rider should do at least once.

Start in Bormio in the upper Valtellina valley and make yourself comfortable on your bike.

From there, you can link three of Italy’s most iconic mountain passes into one unforgettable loop: Stelvio → Gavia → Mortirolo. It’s not about speed. It’s about rhythm, altitude, and total focus.

You start early, climbing the famous hairpins of the Stelvio Pass as the air cools and the traffic is still asleep. At the top, you stop, not because you’re tired, but because you have to. This is one of those places that recalibrates your sense of scale.

From there, the road tightens and roughens over Gavia. Narrow asphalt, changing surfaces, and big exposure demand respect. This is where riding becomes deliberate and calm.

You finish with Mortirolo: steep, technical, and quietly brutal. Less famous among tourists, legendary among cyclists and riders who appreciate precision over spectacle.

By the time you roll back into Bormio, you’re mentally full, physically tired, and deeply satisfied. This is a ride that reminds you why mountain roads deserve patience.
