On the 21st April we will celebrate an important event.

For a moment, the past is no longer distant.
It breathes again — through the people who believe in traditions and values.

This year, we'll have the incredible pleasure of taking part in a truly unique celebration of ancient Rome — and you’re invited to witness it.

We will start on April 19, 2026, when hundreds of historical groups from around the world will come together to honor the origins of Rome, founded by Romulus in 753 BC — a civilization born from the union of Latin, Sabine, and Etruscan cultures.

It is deeply moving to witness how so many people still come together around shared values — ideals they dream of reviving and bringing back to life.

Through their gestures, their study, their dedication…
and the costumes they wear not as disguise, but as identity — lived, embodied, and felt.

🕚 11:00 AM – Circus Maximus
The Grand Parade begins, moving through the heart of the city — past the ancient markets Foro Boario and Foro Olitorio and along the majestic Via dei Fori Imperiali (around 11:30 AM), all the way to the Colosseum.

Nearly 1,000 reenactors in stunning historical costumes will bring the ancient world back to life — a breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.

🕝 2:30 PM – Circus Maximus
Afterward, don’t miss the powerful live reenactment of the R**e of the Sabine Women — a defining moment in Rome’s early history, when conflict turned into unity, shaping the future of a civilization.

It is a living memory, carved in stone.

Walk in the footsteps of Augustus around the autumn equinox, and experience what it means to be part of something eternal.

On September 23, over 2,000 years ago, Augustus celebrated his birthday in a way no ruler had ever done before.

As he entered the Pantheon, the midday sun streamed through the oculus at the top of the dome, illuminating the entrance like a perfect spotlight — a moment of power, symbolism, and divine theater.

From there, a ceremonial path led him toward the Mausoleum of Augustus, just under half a Roman mile away — a 13-minute walk, timed with the movement of the sun, until its light touched the entrance of his family tomb.

But history is not only grandeur.

Imagine him again, walking that same path — slower now.
In his arms, the ashes of his beloved nephew Marcellus, for whom he built the famous theatre beside the Jewish Ghetto.
Not as an emperor, but as a man: grieving, searching, human.

This is the day when we celebrate the Passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Gospel of the Day (Jn 18:1—19:42)
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
“It is finished.”
And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

With no doubt, the most evocative event through the Holy Week is the touching Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) on Holy Friday, that follows the solemn mass in St. Peter's Basilica at 5PM and takes
place in the Colosseum area at 9:15PM.

The archaeological area is always very crowded on this occasion, but this is really something unforgettable to live, as you can get in touch with the sentiment of thousand people gathered to recall Jesus’ passion and with the Colosseum icon under an unusual perspective, as a landmark of Catholic faith.
