Concludo con l’augurio che si possa continuare a raccontare il talento di artigiani, musicisti, agricoltori, imprenditori e di tutte le persone la cui vita affonda le radici nella terra rossa del Salento ed è impregnata di una storia millenaria.
E mi auguro anche che la nostra lingua venga usata per rendere giustizia alla comunicazione, che si comprenda il valore ineguagliabile della cooperazione.

Inizio con un profondo senso di gratitudine verso chi mi ha permesso, e ha contribuito a raccontare una nuova forma di turismo fatta di estrema cura, attenzione e storie preziose.

Ho trascorso anni a cercare di comprendere le forze politiche ed economiche che muovono il mondo. Due anni fa, ho deciso di seguire una visione che sfida entrambe.
Le persone che hanno creduto in questo progetto e mi hanno sostenuto sono fonte di ispirazione. Mi hanno insegnato che la domanda non è cosa questo luogo possa darmi, ma cosa io possa dare a questo luogo.
Io ho cercato di raccontarlo a un giornalista curioso di esplorare gli angoli nascosti della Terra e di scoprirne le storie.

Grazie a .secolario, , , , , , , e , ho potuto raccontare il Salento attraverso gli occhi di The Secret Explorer.

A couple of days ago, we discovered Bacche Rosse, a sustainable fashion and artisanal natural-dyeing project in Alessano (Lecce), created by fashion designer Erika Bozzi.

Erika hosts botanical printing, indigo dyeing, and natural ink workshops, where participants learn how to extract colours from plants, flowers, and even kitchen waste. Through her work, she promotes more ethical fashion, helps reduce textile waste, and reconnects people with traditional, sustainable craft techniques.

We had a lovely time and even made a beautiful scarf. 🌿✨

Why do so many travellers think Matera is in Puglia? 🤔

The answer is actually pretty understandable:

📍 Border location: Matera sits just a few kilometres west of the border with Puglia.

✈️ Travel hub access: It’s much quicker and easier to reach Matera from Bari’s Karol Wojtyłan Airport - around a 1-hour drive - than from Basilicata’s capital, Potenza.

🚗 Road-trip add-on: Many travellers visit Matera as a day trip while exploring Puglia’s famous Valle d’Itria towns, such as Alberobello, Ostuni and Polignano a Mare.

📱 Marketing overlap: Travel bloggers, influencers and tour operators often include Matera in “Puglia” itineraries for convenience, which can blur the regional boundaries for visitors.

But here’s the important part: Matera is not in Puglia. It’s in Basilicata. 🇮🇹
And honestly, that’s part of what makes Matera so interesting - it feels connected to Puglia, but it has its own distinct history, landscape and identity.

Wander through the historic center of Otranto and follow the scent of freshly baked pastry to Pasticceria Alessandro Merola, a true hidden gem.
This is where we found what we consider the best pasticciotto in town: delicate pastry, authentic flavour, and the perfect balance of sweetness.
But the real temptation? The ricottina - a pasticciotto filled with velvety ricotta and finished with a fine layer of dark chocolate. Rich, delicate, and utterly unforgettable. 🤎

Don’t leave Otranto without trying one. Some secrets are simply too delicious to keep. ✨
