The Tower of Pisa is one of Italy’s most famous monuments.
It is known all over the world because ... it is crooked!

The tower is actually a campanile, that is, a tower with bells.
It is located near the cathedral, in the Piazza dei Miracoli.

Construction began in 1173, but it tilted right away because the ground underneath was soft.

You can visit it and get to the top by climbing 294 steps

Happy Pasquetta!

Pasquetta is the name we give in Italy to the Monday after Easter.
It is a special day, much loved by Italians, which is spent with friends or relatives, often outdoors.

The tradition is to organize a small excursion in the countryside, in the mountains or at the seaside.
It is the perfect occasion to relax, be together and enjoy the first days of spring.

On Easter Monday, you can’t miss the picnic: you bring sandwiches, savory pies, dishes prepared at home and, when possible, you also have a barbecue.
In some parts of Italy, outdoor games or simple nature walks are organized.

Buona Pasquetta!

Pasquetta è il nome che in Italia diamo al lunedì dopo Pasqua.
È una giornata speciale, molto amata dagli italiani, che si trascorre con amici o parenti, spesso all’aperto.

La tradizione vuole che si organizzi una piccola escursione in campagna, in montagna o al mare.
È l’occasione perfetta per rilassarsi, stare insieme e godersi i primi giorni di primavera.

One of the most famous works of art in the world, you can access it from the Vatican Museums through a narrow corridor.

The ceiling was painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512.
One of the most famous scenes is the Creation of Adam.

The Sistine Chapel is also the place where the new Pope is chosen. The name “Sistine” comes from Pope Sixtus IV, who had the chapel built.

Ancona is much more than a simple stopover. Founded by the Greeks and strengthened by the Romans, the city developed around its port, one of the most important on the Adriatic. Over the centuries, merchants, explorers, and pilgrims heading to the Holy Land have passed through here, leaving traces in the churches, palaces, and flavors of local cuisine.
The perfectly preserved Trajan’s Arch still welcomes those arriving by sea, while the San Ciriaco Cathedral, perched on the hill, watches over those leaving. And at sunset, from the Passetto Caves, the city reveals its most enchanting side, with the ancient fishermen’s caves reflected in the water.
