It is the last match of the season. We are the visitors today, at Derby County (The Rams). And BBC Sheffield are at Pride Park. They are not following the pub team from down the road, what a pleasant surprise! We have nothing riding on this, but Derby are trying to reach the playoffs and will be keen to take all three points. The Rams fans were roaring as the Rams kicked off. Szmodics had the first chance and the commentators were amazed he was not called off-side. The Rams kept re-cycling the ball and on 5 minutes Szmodics had naother chance where he looked off-side again, but the referee and his linesmen had not been to Specsavers, so he was not flagged off-side and scored; 1:0. Soon The Rams had 75% of possession, they were ohysically a big team and were bullying our boys. On 15minutes Hamer got our first real chance when his right-footed shot from outside the box was saved. We got to 30 minutes and both teams were attacking, but The Rams looked more dangerous and were getting more shots on goal. It also started to seem like the referee had a granny from Derby, given the offside's not given against The Rams. Amid the blaze of chances for The Rams, on 37minutes Cannon got a chance but missed the target. We were now getting more possession, but without a result. There were 2 minutes of extra time, but could not use the time and it was 1:0 when the whistle went. The second half began with an injury to a Rams player and a long delay. The game got going and ten minutes in the link to Pride Park went down and we had to join the pub team down the road. When we returned to some proper football, there were handbags on the respective benches and the fourth official had to calm things down. On 57minutes O'Hare had a chance of a shot on goal, but missed; perhaps he and the referee could go to Specsavers together? On 62minutes The Rams lost the ball, Hamer put the ball forward to Cannon, who scored with a right-footed shot; 1:1. Our fans went crazy and The Rams dropped out of the playoff places. Hoever, Rothwell and Chong replaced Arblaster, Cannon and Seriki. The Rams attacked and lost possession. We then charged forward and Chong had a chance that was saved. Then, one minute later on 69minutes Peck had great shot from outside the box and scored; 1:2. Ings then came on for Hamer because of injury; is this the last time he will play for us, Leeds and West Ham both want to sign him. Ollie McBurnie had scored twice for Hull and now Derby could not make it to the playoffs. Our boys were playing like a different team. And someone pulled the plug out again at Pride Park and we were back with the pub team from down the road. When we were re-connected to Pride Park, we were looking like we could score a thrid goal. With 5minutes to go Riedewald came on for O'Hare. We kept going forward and our boys were looking sublime. Ings had a couple of chances and Burrows had another chance. The commentators were gushing praise for Bamford as we reached 90minutes. There were 10minutes to be added; the referee definitely has a granny in Derby. Our boys kept pushing on and got a free kick on 98minutes, Chong got a yellow card then put the ball to Peck who missed. We had now reached 100minutes and we won a corner and the referee blew the final whistle after 102minutes. Derby 1, Blades 2! The fans went crazy. A horrible season is over. Our boss knows which players he wants to keep and who he wants to bring in. Hopefully next season will be better, but there will be no Steel City Derby, with the pub team from down the road being relegated. È l'ultima partita della stagione. La partita riprese e dopo dieci minuti il collegamento con Pride Park si interruppe e dovemmo raggiungere la squadra del pub lì vicino. Quando tornammo a giocare a calcio vero e proprio, c'erano borsette sulle rispettive panchine e il quarto uomo dovette calmare gli animi. Al 57° minuto O'Hare ebbe un'occasione per ti**re in porta, ma sbagliò; forse lui e l'arbitro potrebbero andare insieme da Specsavers? Al 62° minuto i Rams persero palla, Hamer la passò a Cannon, che segnò con un tiro di destro; 1-1. I nostri tifosi impazzirono e i Rams persero la zona playoff. Hoever, Rothwell e Chong sostituirono Arblaster, Cannon e Seriki. I Rams attaccarono e persero il possesso. Noi ci lanciammo in avanti e Chong ebbe un'occasione che venne parata. Il nostro allenatore sa quali giocatori vuole tenere e chi vuole ingaggiare. Speriamo che la prossima stagione vada meglio, ma non ci sarà più lo Steel City Derby, con la squadra del pub qui vicino retrocessa.

Today Paul Heckingbottom, our former manager, brings his Preston North End team to Bramhall Lane. And the BBC, in their wisdom, are with the pub team from down the road. Marvellous. I think next season I will have to pay for commentary from The Blades. The first half began with Preston pushing forward, winning the first corner and having the first shot at goal. Preston kept charging forward, pinned us in our half of the pitch and scored on 5 minutes with a header from their second corner; 0:1. On 7 minutes we had our first chance, but O'Hare's shot was too high and went over the bar. After 15 minutes possession was shared equally, but Preston were doing more with it and their defence was looking a lot less fragile than ours. Preston got another corner and, on 20 minutes, scored a second goal; 0:2. It looked like being another long afternoon in the Spring sunshine. After 40 minutes we had 60% of possession, but were not managing to do alot with it. The first half ended 0:2. The second half began with a chance for Chong, but it was blocked. After 60 minutes we had a succession of corners, but could not make anything of them. After 70 minutes we were still keeping more of the ball, but inspite of chances for Ings and O'Hare, we could not buy a goal. Then, on 70minutes Seriki drew a foul in the Preston box and the referee awarded us a penalty. Hamer put the penalty away; 1:2. There were 15 minutes to go and we hoped we might be making a comeback, for one minute. Then Preston drove forward and scored a third goal on 76 minutes; 1:3. But our boys kept attacking and on 82 minutes Bamford scored; 2:3. Our boys kept trying and on 88 minutes Bamford had another chance, but missed the target. There were 6 minutes of extra-time, but we seemd to get to 98 minutes before the final whistle went. Another depressing match in which our defence looked very fragile. This evening our guests are Blackburn Rovers. We began with a chance for Tom Cannon in the first minute. Hamer put the ball through to him, but he missed the target. Then Blackburn came on the attack and had succession of corner kicks and, on 12 minutes, Ohashi scored for Blackburn; 0:1. On 20 minutes Blackburn missed a chance, but came close. Blackburn were gradually getting more possession, more chances and were taking control. Things were looking ominous for our boys. On 30 minutes Bamford had a chance for us, but his shot was saved by the Blackburn goalkeeper. On 32 minutes Blacburn scored a second goal; 0:2. We had most possession, but Blackburn were getting more corners and shots on target. On 34minutes Cannon got a shot on goal for our boys, but his shot was blocked. On 45minutes Blackburn scored a third goal; 0:3. This was becoming a depressing evening and it was relief when the half-time whistle blew. The second half began with our boss making four changes; Bindon, Peck, Arblaster and Hjelde came on for McGuiness, Riedewald, Rothwell and Chong. On 50 minutes a cross from Hamer gave Bindon a chance, but his header was too high. We kept pushing forward and Hamer had a chance on 57minutes that was saved. Then almost immediately Burrows had a chance and scored; 1:3. We were winning more tackles, but giving away too many fouls. On 63minutes Cannon had a chance that was saved by the Blackburn goalkeeper, but Blackburn went straight down to our end of the pitch and came close to scoring again. On 66minutes Seriki replaced Hoever and on 67minutes Cannon had another chance, but missed. Our boys were playing better and Bindon had a chance on 71minutes missed the Blackburn left post. With less than twenty minutes to go our boys had restored some respectability and Burrows had a chance blocked on 77minutes. We kept pushing forward and had the bulk of possession. On 86minutes Hamer missed another chance and on 90minutes Cannon had a shot blocked. There were 4minutes of added time and the match ended 1:3. Questa sera i nostri ospiti sono i Blackburn Rovers. Today we are in the south, the visitors at Watford. Our fans were serenading the home fans with The Greasy Chip Butty song as our boys kicked off. Within the first ninute one of Watford's players was looking for an oscar nomination, diving in the box, but the ref neither booked him or nominated him to the oscars committee. We had our first chance when Brooks had a chance to shoot that was saved and an opportunity for Bamford to shoot tha was not struck hard enough. We looked dangerous, but so did Watford when they were in our box. Our midfield was doing a great job of cutting out Watford's forward balls and Hamer was trying to give our forwards balls they could run on to. On 17minutes the ball came through to Bamford who struck a great shot that drew a great save from the Watford goalkeeper. Then on 18minutes, Hamer put in cross that McGuinness headed, but the Watford goalkeeper saved again. We kept getting corners, but the Watford goalkeeper was playing well and the Watford defence seemed to be trying to undress our players, they were pulling our boys shirts so much. After 26minutes Watford charged forward and looked dangerous, but Tanganga went down after a blow to his head and Watford's Louza was given a yellow card. On 35minutes Brooks had wonderful chance, after carrying the ball forward, but his shot was saved. Our fans were making all the noise, but Watford's goalkeeper was proving to be the best player on the pitch. With 2minutes left of the first half Watford were getting more possession and looking more dangerous as Watford's Abankwah had a shot saved. Our fans turned up the volume as Watford had another great chance and should have taken the lead. We had dominated the first half an hour and Watford had come back into the match in final third of the half as the referee blew the whistle to end the first-half. The second half started and I had to nip to the toilet. I could not have timed it worse as, on 50minutes, Hamer's chance was blocked, the rebound went to Bamford and he had a shot that flew into the centre of the Watford net; 0:1. Then things became a bit nasty as the handbags came out and the Watford captain was spoken to by the referee. Then, on 59minutes, our boys drove forward, Seriki got the ball to Bamford who fired the ball into the centre of the Watford goal; 0:2. On 60minutes our boss replaced Brooks with Chong. Then the ball got close to McGuiness's hand, but the referee did not see a handball, so it could not have happened. On 66minutes our boss brought on Ings and Peck for Hamer and Riedewald; Hamer had just been booked for a bad foul. With 15minutes to go, our boss mde two more changes as Arblaster and Bindon replaced O'Hare and Rothwell because of injury. Watford then began to look dangerous as they went looking for goals and our boys were looking to control the game and hold onto our lead. On 92minutes Watford won a freekick and were serenaded by our fans with the Greasy Chip Butty song. There were another 6minutes of extra-time to go, but the game was beginning to peter out. Watford were getting frustrated and some bad challenges started to fly in. The referee blew his whistle to end the game after 99minutes: 0:2. A deserved victory and back-to-back wins. Today our visitors are Hull City. And with fabulous logic neither Radio Sheffield nor radio Humberside are covering The Blades v Hull City. The game started with Hull attacking and on 5 minutes Ollie McBurnie, a player the idiots on our board allowed to leave for Hull, scored for Hull; 0:1. McBurnie did not celebrate. Sydie Peck had our first chance on 9 minutes, but missed the target. We began to get most possession, but were not managing to do much with it. Hull were getting most shots on target with only 40% of possession. O'Hare had a chance on 24 minutes and Hamer had a chance on 26 minutes, but neither could score. We were increasing the amount of possession we had, but Hull were dominating us when they had the ball. McBurnie and Crooks had chances for Hull and the BBC reporter siad Hull should have been further ahead. Bamford had a chance for us on 34 minutes, but the Hull goalie was awake, alert and looking supremely confidant. As half-time approached, we had 70% of possession, but could not make good use of it. On 44 minutes Hamer and on 45 minutes peck had chances saved and it was 0:1 at half-time. The second half began with chances for Hull on 46 and 50 minutes. On 59 minutes Bamford passed the ball to Brooks, whose shot was blocked. Our boss replaced Seriki and O'Hare with Chong and Hoever on 63 minutes. On 68 minutes we had a succession of corners, but could not make them count. On 71 minutes Riedewald replaced Peck. On 75 minutes John Lundstram, another former Blade, fouled Brooks and was given a second yellow card and was sent off. McBurnie then said too much and was yellow carded. On 83 minutes Riedewald was pulled down in the Hull box and we were given a penalty which Hamer despatched; 1:1. On 86 minutes Ings came on for McGuiness and, on 88 minutes was given the ball by Tanganga and scored; 2:1. There were 6 minutes of added time and fans in Wrexham and Derby were willing us to win. Hull City put our goal under siege, then Burrows decided attack was the best form of defence, but his shot was saved by the Hull goalkeeper. On 96 minutes we had a corner, but could not score. The referee remembered his granny from Hull and the 6 minutes of exta time grew as if by magic, but he finally blew the final whistle with thefinal score 2:1. We won, but I'm not sure how. Today we are away at Bristol City. They are now managed by 78 year old former England manager Roy Hodgson, who has come out of retirement to manage City and lead them to 2:1 victory in his first match in charge on Friday. The first half began with us on the attack, then City getting hold of the ball. Possession was being shared equally and City got the first chance on 11minutes. Mcguiness saved our blushes. Seriki drove forward on 12minutes and was fouled by Pring, who already had a yellow card, but the referee had not collected his new glasses from the opticians and did not get the red card out; no-one could believe it! On 17 minutes Bamford was brought down, but the referee had forgotten where he had put his cards, until one of our players committed a foul and the yellow card came out for Cannon. On 23 minutes City came forward and our defence went to sleep, our goalkeeper, Davies, stopped the ball then Sykes got the rebound and scored for City; 1:0. We were making more chances, but not doing anything with them, City got one real chance and scored. Djibril Soumaré had a header on 25 minutes, but it was saved by the City keeper. By now I was starting to wonder if the referee was Hodgson's grandson. Our boys kept attacking and Cannon had a chance saved on 33 minutes, but every time City went forward our commentators were so close to a heart attack they were reaching for the defibrilator. Pring, who should have been red-carded on 11 minutes, was playing well for City. Our boys did not seem to know what they were doing and our fans were getting frustrated as our defence were not getting the ball to our attacking players. The half-time whistle was a relief. The second-half began with our boss bringing on Hamer and Brooks for Hjelde and Soumaré. The change injected some life into our team. Cannon had a chance on 48minutes, followed by a corner and another chance for Brooks that got Hodgson out of his seat. Our boys were making chances and Bamford was taken down in the City area, but with Hodgson's grandson as the referee, he was never going to get a foul. Seriki and Brooks were making Pring's life a nightmare and Hodgson looked like he was waiting for the second yellow card. Hamer had a chance on 53minutes and Bamford had a chance on 56minutes. Brooks than had another chance that lead to a corner and Vitek, the City goalkeeper, was the best player on the pitch. Our boys were constantly attacking and the game was being played in the City half. Bamford was terrifying the City defenders and the chances for our boys were coming regularly without us managing to score. On 75 minutes Rothwell was replaced by Arblaster. Our boys were playing really well, but we needed a goal in the final 15 minutes. On 79minutes Seriki went down and our boss brought on Hoever to replace him. We kept attacking and Peck went into the City box leaving City players in his wake. Our boss brought on O'Hare for Peck on 87 minutes. There must have been a gentle breeze in the City box because City goalkeeper Vitek went down for no apparent reason; surely he couldn't be trying to waste time. Then we had another attacke that resulted in Hamer brought down in the City box, but the referee was struggling to find his glasses, so no foul. There were 8 minutes of extra-time, no-one was sure why, but the Blades fans were not complaining. We had another chance on 92 minutes, but a City player went down clutching his head so the game was stopped, where upon the City player recovered. We were given the ball and, from the resulting attack Bamford was fouled in the area, but the referee lost his glasses again and no foul was given. Our boys kept on attacking and O'Hare had another chance while Hamer was taken down. From the rsulting corner McGuiness put a header wide. The City goalkeeper seemed to go into another time zone, he took so long to get the ball and restart the game. We had now reached 9 of the 8 added minutes and the City fans were whistling and jeering. Vitek took his time again and the final whistle went. It was incredible that City managed to win, they certainly did not deserve it in the second half. The referee's performance was worse than any of the players performance, whether he had a visual impairment or was related to Roy Hodgson, who knows. Oggi siamo in trasferta contro il Bristol City. La prestazione dell'arbitro è stata peggiore di quella di qualsiasi giocatore, chissà se aveva problemi di vista o era imparentato con Roy Hodgson.
