🇮🇹 ROME TRAVEL TIP: Choose Your Neighborhood Wisely

Where you stay in Rome can completely transform your experience. Here are my favorite neighborhoods based on your travel style:

✨ Historic Center (Pantheon • Piazza Navona • Campo de’ Fiori)
Perfect for first-time visitors. Walk to Rome’s most iconic landmarks, beautiful piazzas, charming cafés, and endless gelato stops.

🏛️ Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps
Ideal if you love luxury shopping, elegant hotels, and being in the heart of the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

🍝 Trastevere
My favorite for travelers seeking authentic Roman charm. Think cobblestone streets, family-run trattorias, lively piazzas, and unforgettable evenings.

🏺 Monti
A hidden gem near the Colosseum, offering boutique hotels, artisan shops, cozy wine bars, and a relaxed local atmosphere while remaining close to Rome’s top attractions.

🚶 Local Tip:
Rome is a city best explored on foot. Staying in a central neighborhood saves time, minimizes transportation, and allows you to discover hidden streets and authentic local gems that many visitors miss.

My favorite way to spend an evening in Florence as a local 🇮🇹✨

There’s something magical about Florence at night, when the crowds begin to fade and the city feels softer, more intimate.

My perfect evening looks like this:
✨ A slow stroll through the historic center, letting the music from street performers fill the air
🥂 Stopping for an aperitivo, a spritz or a glass of local wine, of course
🥩 Sitting down for a proper Florentine steak dinner (Bistecca alla Fiorentina)
🌅 Ending the night at Piazzale Michelangelo, watching the sunset over the rooftops and the Arno

This is the Florence I love ❤️ not rushed, not overplanned, just beautiful moments in one of the most magical cities in Italy.

What would be on your perfect Florence evening? 💛

Can I see the Dolomites in one day?🇮🇹
Can I do a day trip to the Dolomites?🚂

This is one of the most frequently asked questions.
Short answer: no, not if you want to truly experience them.

Yes, you can visit for a day, see dramatic peaks, drive scenic roads, and stop at a lake or viewpoint. But you’ll only scratch the surface.

The Dolomites are not a quick stop. They are meant to be experienced slowly.

Best tips:
📍 STAY 3-5 NIGHTS
📍 BASE YOURSELF IN ONE AREA (ORTISEI, CORTINA, OR VAL GARDENA)
📍 PLAN ONE MAIN EXPERIENCE PER DAY
📍 START EARLY — LIGHT IS MAGIC HERE
📍 DO LESS, EXPERIENCE MORE

The Dolomites are not a checklist.
They are a feeling.
Some places in Italy deserve more than a day.

✨ 3 TIPS FOR VISITING CINQUE TERRE 🇮🇹 ✨

🚆 1. USE THE CINQUE TERRE TRAIN (BEST WAY TO MOVE AROUND)
The Cinque Terre Express connects all five villages quickly and easily. Trains run frequently, so it’s the most efficient way to explore without stress. Perfect for hopping between towns in one day.

⏰ 2. START EARLY = A BETTER EXPERIENCE
Arrive early (before 9–10 AM) to enjoy quieter streets, easier access to cafés, and the best photo spots before the crowds arrive. The villages get very busy later in the day.

🌊 3. MIX TRAIN + BOAT + WALKING
Don’t rely on just one way of exploring. Combine the train, short scenic walks, and a ferry ride for the BEST views of the coastline from both land and sea.

🌊 do you know you can add a day trip from Florence?

LESSER-KNOWN ROME TIPS

1. SPEND TIME IN A PIAZZA 🏛️

Locals often gather in piazzas simply to relax, chat, and people-watch. Some of the best Roman experiences happen when you’re not rushing between landmarks.

2. EAT AWAY FROM MAJOR ATTRACTIONS 🍝

Restaurants a few streets away from famous sites often offer more authentic food, better prices, and fewer tourist crowds.

3. USE THE FOUNTAIN TRICK ⛲️

Many Roman drinking fountains, Nasoni, have a small hole near the top. Cover the main spout with your finger and water arcs upward, making it easier to drink.

4. LOOK UP 🔝

Some of Rome’s most fascinating details, ancient inscriptions, family crests, and sculptures, are above eye level, where most visitors never think to look.

🇮🇹 ROME TIPS FOR FIRST-TIME VISITORS (3–4 DAYS)

BOOK the Colosseum and Vatican Museums in advance.

WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES—Rome’s cobblestone streets mean lots of walking.

BRING A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE and refill it at the city’s free drinking fountains.

VISIT TREVI FOUNTAIN EARLY in the morning for the best photos and fewer crowds.

DON’T RUSH! Leave time to wander the charming streets, discover hidden piazzas, and enjoy long Italian meals.

MUST-SEE HIGHLIGHTS:
🏛️ Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
⛪ Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter’s Basilica
⛲ Pantheon, Trevi Fountain & Piazza Navona
🌳 Trastevere, Villa Borghese & local neighborhoods

MUST-TRY FOODS:
🍝 Cacio e Pepe
🍝 Carbonara
🍅 Amatriciana
🥟 Supplì
🍰 and much more!

⭐ BIGGEST TIP: Rome isn’t a city to rush through. Some of the best memories come from getting lost in its beautiful streets, discovering local cafés, hidden churches, and breathtaking views along the way.

4 VENICE TRAVEL TIPS FROM A LOCAL VENETIAN 🇮🇹

• BRING A LIGHT SCARF – Many churches and religious sites require shoulders to be covered. It’s a simple item that can save you time and help you avoid being turned away.

• BOOK YOUR GONDOLA ON SITE – Most visitors are perfectly fine booking directly with a gondolier for a standard 30–45 minute ride. If you’re traveling during peak season or would like a longer, private, or pre-scheduled experience, we can arrange that for you.

• VISIT MURANO EARLY – The island is much quieter in the morning, making it easier to enjoy the glassmaking demonstrations before the larger tour groups arrive.

• DON’T RUSH VENICE – Venice is best experienced on foot. Wander through the side streets, cross small bridges, and get a little lost. Also, keep in mind that a gondola ride during the day offers a completely different atmosphere than one at sunset or after dark.
