Divorced.
I received confirmation today that my—or should I say our—divorce order has been filed and completed by the courts.
I made a nice steak dinner, not to celebrate, but to sit back and reflect on the good times while playing the same song that played in the church on that day 23 years ago.
Now, it’s a closed chapter of my life. I’m so grateful for the amazing daughter that came from it, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. As she enters her second year of university, I’m grateful for the relationship we have and cherish the time we spend together.
Having been separated for more than three years now, I experienced every emotion under the sun during that time. I need to give special thanks to my three best friends: Paul, Kelly, and Steve, in the order I met them 40 years ago. They all listened to me when I wasn’t at my best, without judgment—or maybe they simply tolerated me—but they all stood by me, supported me, and are still my best friends.
I’m glad to put this all behind me now, and I genuinely wish the mother of our child all the best.
I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll leave me a comment.
