Wayanad witnessed the longest monsoon for the last three and a half months. No other district in Kerala has faced such long rains. Tourism, as a result, was stand still.
Now Wayanad has recovered in a short span of time and most of its prestigious destinations are open to receive guests. Rest of the destinations will be opened in the coming days.
As part of spreading the message ‘Destinations are Open and Wayanad is safe to explore’ Backpackers Tourism Society, Wayanad Destination Makers and Mix Pulse Riding Community under the auspices of DTPC Wayand is organizing an Inter-State Bike Rally to Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
The rally named ‘Wayanad Beckons’ will start from Pookod Lake on 21 September 2018 covering few destinations in Karnataka and Tamilnadu and reaches back on 23 September 2018. The Tour operators and Travel agents at Karanataka and Tamilnadu will receive the rally at various points. Interaction with media is also arranged. The rally team will distribute brochures, stickers and posters to the public and transporters during their ride
