ASHTAVINAYAKA — JOURNEY WITH GANESHA

On our last Ashtavinayaka Journey, travelling through Maharashtra to the eight sacred forms of Ganesha became a profoundly moving experience for the whole group.

At each temple we encountered a different story, form and aspect of Ganesha. Moving from one sacred place to the next — hearing the stories, receiving darshan and spending time together in prayer — allowed us to connect with Him in a way that went far beyond simply visiting temples.

🪯 WORDS TO KNOW IN PUNJAB

Punjab’s culture is deeply shaped by the Sikh faith and its teachings. Knowing a few key words — and the meaning behind them — can help you understand much more of what you encounter in gurdwaras, kirtan and everyday life throughout Punjab.

Ik Onkar — There is One Divine Reality. A foundational expression of the oneness of God in Sikhism.

Gurbani — The sacred words and hymns of the Sikh Gurus, preserved in the Guru Granth Sahib.

Hukam — The Divine Will or order through which all of creation unfolds.

Simran — Remembrance of God, especially through repetition and contemplation of the Divine Name.

Shabad — The sacred Word or hymn; the Guru’s teaching expressed through divine wisdom.

Ardas — A Sikh prayer offered with remembrance, gratitude and devotion.

Sangat — The spiritual community or congregation that gathers together in remembrance of God.

🌿 SAINTS OF VRAJ
Spiritual Journey with Swami Paranthapa

There is another side of Vraj beyond the famous temples and well-known routes — one found in quiet sacred places, hidden corners, and in the lives of saints and sadhus who have chosen to make this holy land their home.

From 20–29 November 2026, join Swami Paranthapa for a journey into this living spiritual tradition.

We will visit lesser-known sacred places, meet saints of Vraj, hear their stories and teachings, and experience the land through those who have dedicated their lives to Radha and Krishna.

The journey will also include two special celebrations: Tulsi Vivaha, the sacred wedding of Tulsi and Vishnu, and Kartik Night, filled with kirtan, prayer, light and remembrance of Radha and Krishna. 🪔

🪯 GUARDIANS OF THE GURUS’ RELICS

Across Punjab, many precious relics connected to the Sikh Gurus are still preserved in private family homes — passed down through generations from those who were close to the Gurus and entrusted with their care.

To inherit something so sacred is also to inherit a responsibility. What is especially moving is seeing the devotion with which these families continue to protect and honour these relics, even many generations later.

These are not only objects of history. They carry living stories of faith, service and love — preserved within families for centuries.

✨ AHOBILAM AND THE QUESTION THAT BROKE THE PILLAR

Prahlada said Narayana was everywhere.

Hiranyakashipu pointed to a pillar and demanded: “Is He in this one too?”

What happened next is one of the most famous moments in the story of Narasimha. But in Ahobilam, the story doesn’t end at the pillar.

Deep in the Nallamala Hills, nine principal forms of Narasimha are worshipped across forests, caves, rivers and mountain paths — from the fierce Jwala Narasimha to Malola Narasimha with Lakshmi, and ultimately to Ugra Stambha, traditionally revered as the very pillar from which the Lord appeared.
