At the heart of JNPA’s infrastructure transformation lies the Centralized Parking Plaza (CPP), a facility that has redefined how we manage export containers. Originally conceived to alleviate traffic pressure, the CPP has evolved into a sophisticated hub capable of handling 2,830 tractor-trailers with a stacking capacity of 4,500 TEUs.

The CPP’s impact extends far beyond its impressive capacity numbers. We have built an ecosystem designed to support the long-haul journey, providing essential amenities such as a 50-bed dormitory, a cafeteria, and dedicated vehicle maintenance areas at subsidized rates. By focusing on both operational precision and driver well-being, the CPP serves as the anchor of our port’s efficiency, ensuring that every container movement is backed by world-class support systems.

Through these advancements, JNPA is actively building port logistics that are smarter, faster, and more human-centric.

JNPA, in association with CONCOR, successfully hosted a Trade Meet in Ludhiana to mark the commencement of full-corridor rail operations from Dadri (NCR) to JNPA via the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC). The event brought together key stakeholders from the trade and logistics ecosystem to discuss the transformative impact of enhanced rail connectivity on India’s trade and logistics landscape.

Addressing the meet, JNPA’s Dy. Chairperson, Shri Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, highlighted JNPA’s upgraded rail infrastructure and readiness to seamlessly handle high-volume double-stack train operations. Shri. Girish Thomas, Chief General Manager (Traffic), JNPA shared a brief presentation focusing on JNPA's internal yard infrastructure, rail tracks, and terminal handling lines. The discussions underscored the benefits of the electrified WDFC network—greater speed, cost efficiency, reliability, sustainability, and enhanced cargo capacity—further strengthening JNPA’s position as India’s premier container port and a key gateway for global trade.

The journey of JNPA began with a single, historic vessel call—the MV Kalidas, a vessel of the Shipping Corporation of India, which marked the birth of a new era for Indian maritime trade. That first arrival was more than just a ship docking; it was the spark that ignited JNPA’s potential to become a world-class gateway.

That foundation has now evolved into a new benchmark of global scale. Today, JNPA not only hosts ultra-large container vessels like the Damietta Express at PSA Mumbai, but is also at the forefront of sustainable shipping. We recently welcomed the India-flagged Green Asha, which safely navigated the challenging Strait of Hormuz to secure the nation’s energy supply, and proudly hosted the naming ceremony for Maersk’s pioneering dual-fuel methanol-powered vessel at our GTI terminal.

From the proud arrival of the MV Kalidas to welcoming the giants and green innovators of the modern ocean, JNPA continues to redefine the standards of capacity, capability, and efficiency.
