Despite having hosted seven Meets before this one, it still felt almost as daunting as hosting our very first!
For six years, we had the comfort of the same venue. We knew the place inside out and could probably have pulled an event together there with two weeksâ notice! đ
This year, everything was different. A new venue. A bigger venue. More stalls. More visitors. More than twice the scale of last year. And, just as we were getting closer to showtime, the threat of rain!
From the table layouts to the vendors, almost everything had to be planned and organised from scratch all over again.
But we pulled through, in true Beantown fashion. Phew! đ
And what a wonderful day it turned out to be.
We simply couldnât have done it without our Sponsors who travelled from across India to be there with us, our loyal local exhibitors who turn up at every event with their wonderful collections, and of course, all of you, the visitors and collectors who make up our small, but ever-growing, community of scale model enthusiasts.
A very special shout-out to Earl, whose presence brought an extraordinary energy to the event. It simply wouldnât have been quite the same without you!
We take away from our first event at this new venue a lot of positives, but also plenty of constructive feedback on where we can do better.
And thatâs what we love about this community. You tell us what you think, and we listen.
BMCA promises that we will take all of this on board and come back even better at 9.0.
