About the Role
Nautilus Shipping is looking for a Marine Purchaser to join our procurement team in Chennai. If you have hands-on experience sourcing spares, stores, and services for vessels and want to grow your career in ship management, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
• Process purchase requisitions raised by vessels and the technical department
• Source and negotiate with vendors for spares, stores, and services
• Track orders end-to-end — from requisition to delivery onboard, using the ERP system
• Maintain vendor records, quotations, and purchase documentation
• Coordinate with superintendents and ship staff to ensure timely procurement
Whom We're Looking For
• 1–3 years of experience in marine/ship procurement or purchasing
• Based in or around Chennai, or willing to work from Chennai
• Working knowledge of sourcing vessel spares, stores, provisions, and services
• Hands-on experience working with an ERP system for purchase processing
• Ability to negotiate with vendors and evaluate quotations for cost and quality
• Familiarity with purchase documentation, PO processing, and vendor coordination
• Good communication and follow-up skills to coordinate with vessels, vendors, and the technical team
