Our dad came to Mumbai with Lakhabha in 1944 and worked as multipurpose helper under uncle Shri Nagshi Nenshi where dad’s elder brother, Shri Liladhar Narshi, was a senior incharge. During this time, he married his elder brother's sister-in-law in 1956. The birth of my elder sister Nayna in 1957 coincided with dad separating from his elder brother’s business and starting a new business in the nam
e and style of New Gujarat Transport Company in the following year. However, in 1959, the already existing Gujarat Transport Company raised legal objections under MRTP Act to name of dad’s business. So, dad decided to change the name of his business to Nutan Gujarat Transport Company where the name Nutan takes after his second daughter who was born in the same year. Then in 1961, I was born and we shifted house from Bhandup to Ananth Niwas in Masjid Bunder. Then, in 1963, our younger brother Virendra was born followed by birth of Rajendra in 1964 Rajendra. Dad had, in 1966, started aggressive expansion of business in South India by opening 14 branches during the 10 days of Navratri . In 1967 we lost Virendra to an unfortunate accident and in the following year, dad shifted us to our present address in Mulund West. Dad also actively contributed to the community which is exemplified in his philanthropic activities. One such contribution was laying the foundation of KDO Madhur Milan building in 1971. Sadly, he was suddenly taken away from us in the early morning of 14.10.1972 and it is 48 years to that fateful day today. In my words above I have tried to capture a decade of trailblazing achievement of a great human being.
