Hornbill festival Nagaland: The hornbill festival is held every year from 1st to 10 th December at Naga Heritage Village ,Kisama which is about 12 km from Kohima.

The hornbill festival started in 2000 as main event to promote tourism in the state and bring all the tribes to unite them in one platform and under the one roof .The week long festival unites one and all in Nagaland and you can watch the colourful performances, crafts, sports, food fairs, games and ceremonies.

The Nagas traditional ceremonial attire of each tribe has wear the multicoloured spears and daos decorated with dyed goats hair ,the headwear made of finely woven bamboo interlaced with orchid steams ,adorned with boar’s teeth and hornbill feathers ,elephant tusk armlets.

Hornbill festivals also promoting the Nagaland’s organic fruits and vegetables .
