सेब में POST-HARVEST NUTRITION क्यों जरूरी है?

कई बागवान सोचते हैं कि फल तोड़ने के बाद पौधे को पोषण की जरूरत नहीं होती। लेकिन यही समय अगले साल की फसल की तैयारी के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण होता है।

फल पकने तक सेब के पौधे की मुख्य Vegetative Growth काफी धीमी या लगभग बंद हो चुकी होती है। Harvest के बाद, जब तक पत्तियाँ हरी और सक्रिय हैं, पौधा Photosynthesis और Nutrient Uptake करता रहता है।

इस समय पौधे का मुख्य उद्देश्य नई Growth निकालना नहीं, बल्कि:

एक स्वस्थ सेब का पौधा dry spell या drought जैसी परिस्थितियों को बेहतर सहन कर सकता है, क्योंकि उसकी root system मजबूत और functional होती है।

लेकिन Monsoon में तस्वीर अलग हो सकती है।

बारिश के दौरान मिट्टी में लगातार moisture और nutrients की उपलब्धता बढ़ने से Root Rot या Root Borer से प्रभावित पौधे भी कुछ समय के लिए हरे-भरे दिखाई दे सकते हैं और नई growth भी दिखा सकते हैं।
