The Tiger's Nest Monastery, also known as Paro Taktsang, stands on a steep cliff about 3,120 meters above sea level. It was built in 1692 around a cave where Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), a revered Buddhist master, meditated in the 8th century. The monastery is a prominent pilgrimage site for Buddhists and holds significant religious importance in Bhutan.
