Travel to Geneva for work would be incomplete without a bit of site seeing.

We wandered along Lake Geneva intent on seeing the famous Jet d'Eau, built in 1886 to control and release the excess pressure of a hydraulic plant, today it is one of the tallest water fountains in the world and an emblem of the city.

You are my favorite person to get lost with ❤️

It doesn't take much wandering in the Iberian Peninsula to stumble upon signs the Romans were here. The Roman Bridge of Alcántara is a prime example.

TRAVEL 🌍🇮🇳 Mysuru (Mysore), India

When it comes to palaces in India, the Taj Mahal is usually the first iconic structure that comes to mind. But did you know there is an awe-inspiring palace in South India as well?

Completed in 1912, Mysore Palace was
the official residence of the Wadiyar Dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore.

Today, each evening people convene on the grounds to witness the palace burst into light from the more than 100,000 light bulbs that cover the structure.

Yesterday we were there among the crowd that walked past sellers of cotton candy, sugarcane juice, and countless souvenirs to witness the palace transform. When the palace illuminated the crowd errupted in joyful cheering!

TRAVEL 🌍🇮🇳 Goa, India

In the interior of Goa we got to see a different side of this small state. We especially enjoyed a visit to Sahakari Spice Farm.

We wandered through dense jungle-like grounds where we were shown cinnamon trees, turmeric roots, pepper vines, and vanilla orchids among dozens of other plants that are important to Indian cuisine and the world.

The second photo is of a massive black cardamom plant!

TRAVEL 🌍🇮🇳 Goa, India

When I lived in India some years ago people frequently said that I should go to Goa. Now as a Portuguese immigrant, a visit to this tiny coastal state felt even more relevant.

A former Portuguese territory, residual Portuguese names such as Silva and António can still be spotted in the names of shops while the native language of Konkani rightfully fills the streets.

Here I spotted perhaps my favorite new Indian phenomenon--the beach cow. 😂🐄⛱️

Congratulations dear Pragna and Tony! Your wedding was everything wrapped into one: joy, tradition, and the exchanging of eternal vows. We felt incredibly lucky to attend this intimate ceremony within the walls of a 9th century temple.

Although originally a practice from northern India, today the intricate mehandi (designs in henna) are synonamous with wedding preparations in southern India as well. The results are stunning and the sweet earthy smell--intoxicating.

CYCLING PORTUGAL N2 🇵🇹 DAY 15

Cláudio ushered us under a tree and started handing us berries. From a tree? The juicy sweetness burst in our mouths. These were not just any berries but mulberries! I could have stayed under that tree and gobbled them up the rest of the day, but we still had 20 km of road ahead of us.

O Cláudio levou-nos para debaixo de uma árvore e começou a entregar-nos bagas. A partir de uma árvore? A doçura suculenta irrompeu na nossa boca. Estas não eram umas bagas quaisquer, mas sim amoras! Podia ter ficado debaixo daquela árvore e devorá-las o resto do dia, mas ainda tínhamos 20 km de estrada à nossa frente.
