Nepal is not just a destination on our route map. It is where our aircraft touch down, our crew are welcomed, and our passengers feel at home. The devastating flood on 26th August 2026 struck a place many of our crew have come to know well, and the news reached us not as a distant headline, but as something close to home.
We responded the way neighbours do, without needing to be asked. Bhutan Airlines contributed NPR 1,600,000 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund, facilitated through the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), and we were glad that Drukair stood alongside us, bringing Bhutan's airlines' combined support to NPR 3,200,000.
No contribution restores what has been lost. But we hope this stands as a small, steady signal of solidarity from Bhutan's aviation community to the people of Nepal, and of our confidence in the country's strength to rebuild.
