Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, formerly Sahar International Airport, is the primary international airport in Mumbai, India, and is named after the 17th century Maratha emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji. Originally two airports, Sahar International and Santa Cruz Airport, they are now connected by a 15-minute ride on free shuttle buses for international travelers connecting to domestic flights. Terminal 1B and Terminal 2 have recently undergone extensive renovations to upgrade systems and prepare the airport for an expected growth of 40 million annual passengers.
