St. Petersburg — where every corner feels like a postcard 🇷🇺✨
Two days of meetings, numbers, and nonstop business…
and then a few hours that reminded me why we travel at all.
Driving into the city, the first thing that catches your eye is the Narva Triumphal Arch — built to celebrate Russia’s victory over Napoleon. It feels like the city welcoming you with history.
A few minutes later, you’re walking along Nevsky Prospect, passing the grand Kazan Cathedral — massive, calm, and almost Roman in its presence. And right there, the stunning Singer House (House of Books), one of the most iconic buildings in the city, where history and everyday life blend effortlessly.
Then comes the moment…
standing by the canal in front of the breathtaking Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood — colorful, detailed, and honestly… unreal in person.
The elegance continues at the Winter Palace, a symbol of imperial Russia and home to the Hermitage, and then the golden skyline of the Admiralty Building cutting through the clouds like something straight out of a painting.
But what makes the city truly special is the contrast —
right next to all this grandeur, you find real life…
like a street character riding around with his dog, completely owning the moment 😄
And of course, you can’t leave without stopping at the legendary Pyshechnaya — serving traditional Soviet-style donuts (pyschki) since 1958. Simple, fresh, covered in powdered sugar — nothing fancy, but absolutely unforgettable.
St. Petersburg is also quietly famous for its bakeries — small windows filled with pastries, cakes, and fresh bread that make you stop without even planning to. I stepped into one… and walked out with far more than I intended 😄
Some cities you visit.
Some cities you feel.
St. Petersburg… definitely the second. ✨
