In Deep Sorrow With Nepal 🇳🇵

Nepal has always been more than a destination for us.

It is the warmth of its people, the quiet strength of its mountains, the prayer flags moving with the wind, the smiles of those who welcome every traveller as a friend. Every journey there leaves behind a little piece of itself in our hearts.

Today, those mountains and communities are hurting.

As devastating floods and destruction have brought unimaginable loss to families across Nepal, our hearts are heavy. We mourn every life lost, every home affected, and every dream suddenly interrupted.

Our Community Cinema Experience featuring the acclaimed Bengali film ফেরা was a heartwarming success! ❤️

Organised by Autumn Leaves in association with Autumn & Beyond – Shoho Jatree, the event brought together our wonderful senior members from across Kolkata for an evening filled with laughter, emotions, conversations, popcorn, coffee, and most importantly—togetherness.

From gathering at the multiplex to sharing reactions during and after the film, every moment reminded us that meaningful experiences are best enjoyed in good company.

Seeing our members step out, connect with old friends, make new ones, and immerse themselves in a beautiful cinematic journey was truly priceless.

A heartfelt thank you to all our members for making this initiative such a memorable one. Your enthusiasm and participation inspire us to create many more community experiences in the days ahead.

Dooars Diaries – Day 5 | Journey Home

And just like that, our wonderful Dooars getaway came to an end.

The day began with a relaxed and leisurely breakfast as our travellers soaked in the last few moments of the beautiful surroundings. Soon, it was time to check out, bid farewell to the resort, and begin the journey back home.

The group travelled to NJP Station to board the Teesta Torsha Express, which arrived right on schedule. Everyone settled comfortably into their seats, carrying with them countless memories, laughter, and stories from the past few days.

The train was scheduled to reach Sealdah Station at 3:45 AM, but arrived a little ahead of time. Waiting at the station were familiar and caring faces from Autumn Leaves—our Care Managers had already been there since 3:30 AM, ready to welcome everyone back.

What was expected to be a quiet farewell turned into a heartwarming reunion. Smiles, conversations, and shared memories filled the platform as travellers and Care Managers met once again before parting ways.

For many of our travellers, the journey did not end at the station. They were accompanied and safely dropped back to their respective homes before our team finally bid them goodbye.

As we share a few final glimpses of the beautiful property and the many happy faces that made this trip so special, we look back with gratitude on the friendships formed, the laughter shared, and the memories created together.

Dooars Diaries – Day 4

Another beautiful day unfolded in the heart of Dooars!

The morning began with a wholesome breakfast, after which our travellers set out to visit the serene Jalpesh Mandir, where they offered prayers and sought blessings for good health, happiness, and safe travels.

The journey then continued through some of the most picturesque destinations of the region, including Jhalong, Bindu, and the scenic Bhutan Border areas. Surrounded by rolling hills, flowing rivers, and breathtaking landscapes, the day was filled with wonderful sights and countless photo-worthy moments.

As the evening approached, the trip was blessed with its first spell of rain. The refreshing showers brought down the temperature by a few degrees, offering welcome relief and adding a magical charm to the surroundings.

Back at the resort, the excitement continued with a specially organised Tribal Dance Performance. Our senior travellers thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant music, colourful traditions, and energetic performances that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The day then wound down with evening snacks, warm conversations, and a delicious dinner shared among friends.

🚂 And just like that, our wonderful Dooars adventure is nearing its final chapter.

Tomorrow, we begin our journey back home—carrying with us beautiful memories, new friendships, and stories that will be cherished for years to come. ❤️

Dooars Diaries – Day 3

Today was the day everyone had been eagerly waiting for — Jungle Safari Day!

The morning began with an early wake-up call, followed by a hearty breakfast in the dining hall. Refreshed and excited, our travellers set off for an adventure through the beautiful trails of the Gorumara Forest.

As the safari vehicles ventured deep into the wilderness, the group made their way to one of the forest watchtowers, offering a breathtaking bird's-eye view of the lush greenery stretching as far as the eye could see.

While luck did not favour us with sightings of some of the larger wildlife this time, nature had plenty to offer. Along the way, our travellers spotted a variety of beautiful birds, wild boars, and several smaller forest inhabitants. More importantly, they experienced something even more special—the peace, serenity, and connection with nature that only a forest can provide.

After the safari, everyone returned to the hotel for a delicious lunch, followed by some well-earned rest. The evening was kept leisurely, with most guests choosing to relax in the comfort of their rooms while enjoying snacks served indoors.

The day concluded with a warm dinner, happy conversations, and a good night's sleep.

Dooars Diaries – Day 2

What a day it has been!

Due to an unexpected delay of over 9 hours, our carefully planned itinerary had to be reshuffled on the go. We were originally scheduled to arrive at New Mal Junction at 6:00 AM, with our vehicles already waiting to welcome us. Instead, we finally reached at around 4:00 PM!

The silver lining? Our travellers enjoyed a relaxed journey, with breakfast and lunch served onboard, turning the train into our dining hall for the day.

Upon arrival, everyone headed straight to The Selva Resort & Spa, checked into their rooms, and finally got the opportunity to stretch out and relax after the long journey. A soft bed and some well-deserved rest were exactly what everyone needed.

As evening set in, it was time for snacks, laughter, and adda. New friendships were formed, stories were shared, and smiles filled the room as everyone got to know one another better. The day ended with a hearty dinner and an early night’s sleep.
