Flavors of Bengal- Art Festival at Forum Mall, Elgin Road Kolkata:

Taking a clue from Rabindranath Tagore, Forum will celebrate Durga Puja this year by bringing the different art forms closer to people’s hearts.
Associating with bangle natak. com, a 12 year old social enterprise which synergies cultural and economic development; working towards sustainable development of marginalized communities as well as preservation of their cultural heritage and diversity.
The dates of the festival are from the 1st of October to the 14th of October 2012 at the Forum Mall on Elgin Road where special arrangements are being made to host Flavors of Bengal .
Sculptor Sailen Ghosh from Hoogly, who is well known for his bronze sculptures and is an award winner, participates in various exhibitions, will present his work at Forum.
Renowned photographer Ms Leena Kejriwal will exhibit her collection of photographs as well as give visitors a chance to be photographed by her in Bengali traditional attire & background.
Artist Alok Roy, Charcoal, Kaustav Biswas, Suchandra Das will have painting sessions and display their works. Interesting to see will be Maitali Dey with her collage works.
Wonders of the Katha stitch will be showcased by Chandan Bhandari, Poulumi Das, and various others from Sasha and Bangla Natak.com
Other art forms such as Dhokra, Madhubani, Patachitra, Purlia Masks, Terracota and Jute accessories will decorate the interiors of Forum and will be available for sale.
Lip smacking Bengali cuisine will add flavor to the puja sprit. ( Kulhar tea with hot pakoras, Nahum - savories & cakes, street chaat, Burdawan - mehidana, Barasat - sandesh, Shaktigarh lencha to name a few !)
